In honor of National Strawberry Day on February 27th, we thought we would share some fun facts about strawberries that you may or may not know about. Below is a list of the facts that hopefully you will find interesting!

- Native Americans began eating strawberries first, before the European settled in America.
- In the U.S., about 80% of strawberries are produced in California.
- Strawberries are perennial plants and when they do grow back each spring, they plant can last about five years.
- If you are planning to store strawberries, do not wash them until you are ready to eat them, as water can spoil them.
- You can find strawberries grown in every state in the U.S.
- Each spring, the strawberry is the first fruit to ripen.
